Space for Sports and Arts is an initiative aimed at improving facilities in primary schools, for dual school and community use, in the areas of greatest need. They are ideally placed to meet other community needs for sports, arts and social facilities.

Darnton Elgee were appointed as architects, providing services to contractor Kier Northern.

This partnering project was for the construction of extensions to three schools and an isolated block at a fourth school to provide facilities for Sports and the Arts.

Multi-use games areas (M.U.G.A.'s) were provided at two of the schools and projects were carried out whilst the schools remained fully operational.
